5-04 Why don’t I receive any reminder/sound?

25. March 2021

If you generally do not receive reminders or these are only sent when the app is open, this is mainly due to the following wrong settings:

iOS

  • Allow mediteo to send notification:  iOS settings → mediteo → Notifications → Allow notifications → On
  • Allow mediteo to send notifications always and immediately: iOS settings → mediteo → Notifications → Allow Critical Alerts → On
  • For sound:
    • Activate the sound in the mediteo settings:
      • More → Settings → Sound for notifications → On
    • Turn ringtone and notification sounds in the iOS settings loud enough and deactivate “Silent mode” (toggle button on the side of the device).
  • Deactivate “Do not disturb” in the iOS settings or activate the critical alerts in mediteo:
    • More → Settings → Critical alerts → On

Android

Battery Optimization causes notifications to not always work. Should you use a Samsung or Huawei, this is probably the reason. Unfortunately these systems are very different, so that we cannot describe exactly where the option is located. Important: on every Android there are at least 2 settings, and mostly some which cannot be managed in mediteo. Not all these steps have to apply for your Android:

  • Allow mediteo to send reminders. To do this, search for mediteo in the Android settings.
  • Allow mediteo to run in the background. Search in the battery settings of the Android settings for “Allow in the background” or “Always allow”.
  • Deactivate battery optimization for mediteo. Search in the Android settings for “Battery performance optimization” or “Batstery optimization”
  • Deactivate data saving for mediteo. Search in the Android settings for “Unlimited data access” or “Data saving mode”.
  • Deactivate “Do not disturb” in the Android settings.
  • For sound: activate it on mediteo under settings.
  • For sound: turn ringtone and notification sounds loud enough in the Android settings and deactivate “Silent mode”

Specifically for Samsung:

  • Check Autostart Management (mediteo should be active).
  • Check Battery Performance Optimization in the battery settings (mediteo should be deactivated).
  • Check Unsupervised Apps in the battery settings (mediteo should be listed there).

Specifically for Huawei:

  • Check Manage automatically in the battery or start settings (mediteo should be deactivated)
  • Check Protected App in the battery or energy settings (mediteo should be active)
  • Check App optimization in the apps settings (mediteo should ignore this).

Specifically for Xiaomi:

  • Check Autostart (mediteo should be active)
  • Check Energy Saving Mode in the apps settings (mediteo should be deactivated).
  • Check Use adaptive Battery in the battery settings (mediteo should be deactivated).

If none of the above-mentioned steps result in functioning reminders, do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected].
